Questions

Does eBay charge fees on postage?

Yes. Where a final value fee applies, eBay works it out on the total the buyer pays, which includes postage (and sales tax on eBay.com). So charging more for postage also raises the fee.

What is the break-even price?

The lowest item price that covers eBay's fees, the cost of the item, postage and packaging, so you make no loss. Anything above it is profit.

How is margin different from ROI?

Margin is your profit as a share of what the buyer paid for item and postage. ROI (return on investment) is your profit as a share of what the item cost you.

How accurate is this calculator?

It uses eBay's published rates for eBay.co.uk and the category you choose. Your real fees can differ with shop subscriptions, promotions, Promoted Listings and eBay's own changes, so check eBay's fee page before you rely on a number.
