Deleting your account or workspace
Delete your ProfitClerk account from your profile or the app. For an owner this deletes the whole workspace. What to do first, what is removed and what is kept.
You can delete your ProfitClerk account yourself: on the website under Settings › Your profile › Delete account, or in the app under More › Delete account. You confirm with your password. If you are the workspace owner, this deletes the whole workspace: its orders, stock, eBay connections and every teammate's account. It cannot be undone.
Before you delete
- Check what happens to your plan. Deleting the account cancels a plan bought on the website or in Google Play, so it is not charged again. A plan bought in the App Store can only be cancelled by you: open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel it before you delete. The delete box shows a note saying which applies to you. See Cancelling your plan.
- Download your data. Once deleted, nothing can be recovered. See Downloading a copy of your data. Also save any CSV exports or tax-centre reports you need for your records.
- Tell your team if you are the owner, as their accounts are deleted too.
- Have your password ready. If you only sign in with Google or Apple, set a password first with Forgot your password?. See Forgot your password.
Delete your account on the website
- Open Settings and the Your profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom, to Delete account.
- Select Delete account. A box asks: "Are you sure you want to delete your account?"
- Enter your Password and select Delete account again.

You are signed out and taken to the home page. We send an email confirming that your account was deleted.
Delete your account in the app
- Open More and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete account: "This permanently deletes your account. Owners also delete the workspace: orders, inventory, eBay connection, and team."
- Enter your password ("Type your password to confirm. This cannot be undone.") and tap Delete forever.
What is deleted
If you are the workspace owner:
- the workspace and its settings
- all orders, stock, item costs, stock purchases, expenses, mileage, returns and label costs
- the eBay connections and everything synced from eBay
- the accounts of every teammate, and any pending invitations
- your plan and payment history in ProfitClerk
If you are a manager or viewer:
- only your own account: your profile, sign-ins and settings
The workspace and everything in it stay for the owner and the rest of the team. The owner can also remove you from the Team page. See Team members and roles.
What is kept
A record of the payments made for the workspace (who was billed, what for, the amounts and tax) is kept separately for the time the law requires for business records, then removed automatically. The Privacy Policy explains how long data is kept.
Closing a workspace but keeping access
If you only want to stop paying, you do not need to delete anything. Cancel your plan and the workspace becomes read-only at the end of the paid period, with all your data still there to look at. You can pick a plan again at any time. See Read-only mode without a plan.
Moving the workspace to someone else
The owner role cannot be changed from the Team page. If the business changes hands, or you need help closing a workspace, use Contact us and choose Help with my account or Privacy or my data.
Questions people ask
Does deleting my account cancel my plan?
Yes, for a plan bought on the website or in Google Play: deleting the account cancels it, so it is not charged again. A plan bought in the App Store is the exception: Apple lets only you cancel it, so cancel it on your iPhone or iPad first. The delete box tells you which applies to you.
Can I undo a deletion?
No. The account and, for an owner, the whole workspace are deleted for good. Download a copy of your data first if you might need it.
I am a teammate. Will deleting my account delete the workspace?
No. Only your own account is removed. The workspace, its data and the other members stay.
It asks for a password, but I sign in with Google. What do I do?
Set a password first with "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page, using the same email address, then delete the account with that password.
Is anything kept after I delete my account?
A record of the payments you made (who paid, for what, the amounts and tax) is kept for the period the law requires, then removed. Everything else is deleted.
