Create your ProfitClerk account

Sign up on the website or in the app with email, Google or Apple, confirm your email if asked, and get your workspace ready for your eBay sales.

Updated 13 October 2026 3 min read

You can create a ProfitClerk account on the website or in the app with your name, email address and a password, or with Google (and with Apple on iPhone). Signing up also creates your workspace, the place that holds your eBay accounts, stock, orders, reports and team. Next you choose a plan and connect eBay.

Sign up on the website

  1. Open the ProfitClerk website and choose Get started, or go straight to the sign-up page.
  2. On Create your workspace, fill in:
    • Name: your own name.
    • Company name (optional): your shop or business name. Left empty, the workspace is called after you.
    • Email and Password, then type the password again in Confirm Password.
  3. Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and the Data Processing Agreement, and confirm you have read the Privacy Policy.
  4. Select Create account.

You land on the Billing page with the message "Your workspace is ready. Choose the Try pass or a plan to start." We also send you a welcome email.

Sign up in the app

  1. Install the app from the App Store or Google Play. See Get the ProfitClerk app.
  2. On the welcome screen, tap Get started.
  3. Fill in Name, Workspace name, Email and Password (at least 8 characters).
  4. Tick the box to agree to the terms, then tap Create account.

The plans screen opens next, so you can pick the Try pass or a plan, bought through the App Store or Google Play.

Sign up with Google or Apple

On the sign-up and sign-in pages you can choose Sign up with Google instead of filling in the form. In the iPhone app you can also choose Sign up with Apple. The first time, ProfitClerk asks you to agree to the terms before it creates your account and workspace.

If you already have an account with the same, confirmed email address, signing in with Google or Apple links to that account rather than creating a new one. See Sign in with Google or Apple.

Confirm your email address

ProfitClerk may ask you to confirm your email before you can carry on. If it does:

  1. Open the email we sent and select the link in it.
  2. You see Email confirmed. On a phone, tap Back to the app to carry on in the app.

The link works on any device, even one where you are not signed in. If you cannot find the email:

  • Look in your spam or promotions folder.
  • On the website, select Resend Verification Email. In the app, tap Send the email again.
  • If the address is wrong, choose Wrong address? Change it and enter the right one.

In the app, the Confirm your email screen checks by itself every few seconds, and when you come back to the app. You can also tap I've confirmed it.

What you have after signing up

  • A workspace with you as its Owner. Only the owner can connect eBay accounts, buy a plan and invite team members.
  • No plan yet. There is no free trial. Until you buy the Try pass or a plan, the workspace cannot connect eBay or sync orders. See Plans and what each one includes.
  • An empty workspace. Your sales arrive once you connect eBay.

Joining someone else's workspace

If a seller invited you to help with their shop, do not sign up separately. Open the invitation email and accept it: you join their workspace with the role they chose (manager or viewer). See Team members and roles.

Keep your account safe

After signing up, consider turning on two-step sign-in, so a code from an authenticator app is needed as well as your password. See Two-step sign-in.

Next steps

Work through the first-day set-up checklist: choose a plan, connect your eBay account, set your country and tax profile, and add what your stock cost.

Questions people ask

Is creating an account free?

Creating the account costs nothing, but your workspace has no plan until you choose one. There is no free trial; you start with the Try pass or a monthly or yearly plan before eBay can be connected.

I did not get the confirmation email. What now?

Look in your spam or promotions folder first. Then use the button to send the email again, or change the address if you typed it wrong. The link in the email works on any device, even if you are not signed in there.

Can I sign up with Google or Apple instead of a password?

Yes. The website and both apps offer Continue with Google, and the iPhone app also offers Continue with Apple. You still tick the box to agree to the terms the first time.

What is the company name or workspace name for?

It names your workspace, which holds your eBay accounts, stock, orders and team. It is optional on the website; if you leave it empty, the workspace is named after you.

I was invited by someone. Should I create my own account?

No. Open the invitation email and accept it, so you join their workspace. Creating your own account makes a separate, empty workspace.
